Dr. Shauna Benjamin is passionate about providing exceptional patient care. As an experienced veterinarian, Dr. Benjamin has a proven track record of delivering high-quality, warm, and tender-hearted care to her patients. She is also dedicated to staying up to date with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine to ensure the best possible clinical outcomes.
Originally hailing from the city of Los Angeles. She holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine, earned in 2015 and a master’s in veterinary science-Immunology (MS), earned in 2011, collaborating with the USDA-Agriculture Research Service-Aquatic Animal Health Research division.
After completing her studies, she worked for the USDA within Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) as a Supervisory Public Health Veterinarian: conducting inspections, foreign animal disease surveillance, enforcing federal inspection procedures including animal welfare law. In conjunction she worked as a relief small animal veterinarian in private practice ultimately completely switching into a full-time clinician where she cultivated an approach to create strong bonds between pets, client, and veterinary teams. Empowering clients through education and preventive healthcare measures is her ambition.
Dr. Benjamin has held positions, including Chief of Staff, where she cohesively guided teams to deliver exceptional veterinary care. Passionate about merging managerial prowess with a commitment to animal well-being, she strives to elevate standards in veterinary practice.
While Dr. Benjamin, is not snuggling with her patients in the hospital she does enjoy the outdoors in the sun and snuggling with her husband, 2 kids, and boxer/ridgeback mix Simba.
