Advanced Oral Care ServicesPet Dental Treatment at Westchester Veterinary Center

At Westchester Veterinary Clinic, we provide high quality and compassionate advanced dental care for your pet with emphasis on making them as comfortable as possible while we diagnose, repair, and restore your pet’s oral health.

Our advanced veterinary dental services include:

Pain Management is our top priority. Even while under anesthesia, ultrasonic scaling can be painful or will require deeper anesthesia for a significant amount of patients. Topical Anesthesia prevents this unnecessary pain and provides for a smoother plane of anesthesia. A majority of the pain associated with these invasive procedures is in the first 3 days following the procedure. At WVC, our patients are given Regional Nerve Blocks which is considered the most effective means of pain management known to medicine. By doing this, our patients recover quickly and comfortably enabling them for expedited return to normal function.

Digital Dental Radiography (X-Ray) is used on every patient to identify disease that otherwise might be missed. A complete oral evaluation, including dental radiographs, is the only way to provide a thorough evaluation to find lesions that are painful and/or infected, as our patients cannot tell us what they feel.

To prevent, diagnose, and treat diseases that affect the gums and tooth support structures, such as periodontal disease, feline stomatitis, and resorptive lesions.

To treat diseased or injured pulp (the delicate tissue inside the tooth), most commonly seen with fractured teeth (canine and carnassial teeth).

To repair and/or reconstruct damaged teeth and roots with the use of crowns and fillings.

For the salvage of compromised roots.

Stem cell therapy, laser therapy

  • Oral oncology (cancer)
  • Maxillofacial trauma (fractures, tumors)
  • Palate defects (cleft)
  • Difficult extractions

(braces) to prevent and repair malocclusions, or improper bite.

Diagnostics and Anesthesia

Our veterinary hospital utilizes pre- and post-treatment diagnostic testing for the accurate diagnosis of your pet’s health condition prior to and after anesthesia. These may include bloodwork, digital x-rays, and CT scanning.

General anesthesia is required for the advanced dental care and surgery your pet may need. Your pet will be closely monitored by a skilled licensed veterinary technician before, during, and after your pet’s dental procedure.
