Dr. Andrew Krieger is originally from Columbus, Ohio, and graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.S. degree in Animal Sciences. He fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian by earning his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2008, also from The Ohio State University.
Dr. Krieger began his veterinary career at a private practice in Columbus where he developed his skills in general medicine while having a strong surgical mentorship. He developed an interest in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. In 2009, Dr. Krieger and his wife moved to Los Angeles where he was the Medical Director of a private practice in Manhattan Beach, specializing in Advanced Veterinary Dentistry until 2019.
He has focused on continually enhancing his skills in veterinary dentistry. Dr. Krieger trained under a veterinary dentist and completed many elective advanced courses in dentistry and oral surgery. His advanced dental training provides him an opportunity to offer services to dogs and cats not available at most general veterinary hospitals.
In addition to general practice and performing advanced dentistry, Dr. Krieger traveled to Beijing and Nanning, China with Dr. Yoo in 2017 where he delivered continuing education lectures and hands on wet labs to veterinarians interested in improving the standards of veterinary dentistry in China. He has also been assisting other veterinary hospitals locally and across the nation by providing training and performing advanced dental procedures at their hospitals.
Dr. Krieger is excited to join Westchester Veterinary Center and offers our clients his expertise and training in veterinary dentistry, as well as general medicine and surgery. Dr. Krieger and Westchester Veterinary Center can provide endodontic therapy such as root canals, crown restoration, and many other less traumatic, more successful means of saving teeth and making your pets more comfortable. His special interests also include soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, wellness and preventative medicine, regenerative medicine (stem cell therapy, laser therapy, etc.), and improving the quality of life for his senior patients.
When Dr. Krieger is not at the hospital, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Aimee, his children, Emery and Gavin, and their rescue dog and cats (Fiona, Diesel, Fergie and Finnegan). When time allows, he also enjoys hockey, running, biking, and great wine with friends.
